Viet's Story

Viet has been cutting hair since 2014. His journey began in Minnesota where he earned a dual license for cutting hair. The dual license provides him with a unique set of skills of both cosmetology and barbering. Through the years he has mastered the art of men’s hair. He left Minnesota in 2018 and earned some recognition in Las Vegas.

 

After 3 years in Las Vegas, he moved back to Minnesota to build his own barbershop, District One. Besides his growing career as a master barber and spending time with his wife and 2 sons, he also has a passion in soccer. Any client sitting in his chair can see the passion he has for soccer. Soccer has been a big part of his life for as long as he can remember. Many clients come back to his chair not only for his skills in barbering, but also to share their passion for soccer.

Background and Vision of the Barbershop

The name District One comes from Viet’s homeland of Vietnam. Viet wanted to bring a little bit of his past life and his future together. The beginning of Viet’s life started in Vietnam, but District One Barbershop was his vision for the future. District One is an upscale, urban district in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City also known as Saigon. It is known for its luxury and art. Saigon is a city that mixes industrial vintage with luxury. Viet wanted to bring this together in his vision that brings industrial and luxury together in one barbershop.
